javasaurus | Ren Fest starts tomorrow!

Can't believe rehearsals are done, and tomorrow starts the season. The summer has flown by! At least the weather is supposed to be fantastic (low 80s, low humidity, lots of sunshine and no rain).

Got my haircut today, about three or four inches removed. Two years ago, I had my hair in a pony-tail, and two directors pulled me to the side and requested that the mayor have short hair -- they seemed very sorry for asking me to cut it, but truth be told, I prefer my hair short -- I had let it get long because my previous character actually had long hair. I'm told I look significantly different with my hair short. I don't see much difference, but it apparently throws some people a bit. Wonder what reactions I'll get tomorrow. Wonder what reaction I'll get from BE...

I always have trouble finding RenFest-appropriate shoes. They're either too expensive, wrong style, too small, or just don't exist. I had a decent pair last year, but when I dug them out recently, they had some kind of white powdery substance in them. Fungus? Mold? Ewwww... So I bought a new pair this year. I don't know if the style is quite appropriate, but I'll find out tomorrow. Anyway, I was going to throw out the gross pair, and decided, "what the heck!" and then tossed them into the wash with some detergent. If they're going to be trash anyway, destroying them won't hurt. They came out OK, and clean. I was surprised. So now I have two pairs of shoes for fest.

Wheee.....

Hmmm... I wonder what I can eat at fest that won't put the 12 pounds back on...I know! Slim-Fast on a stick!
