interesting (?) licence plate

driving to College Park yesterday, saw one of the new licence plates. For about 20 years now, the standard licence plates in Maryland have been letter letter letter, number number number. Now they are going to a new sequence, number letter letter, letter number number.

We (BE and I) did a double take when we saw the following:

8AD A33

I don't know - that seems awfully obvious for something random. Doesn't the MVA try to screen out stuff like that, anyway?

Think about it. Your average employee at the MVA is an over-worked beaureaucrat who barely has time to go to the bathroom during the workday. I really doubt most of them are down with l33t-speak. And even if the over-worked beaureaucrat who came across the tag was hip to l33t, considering s/he is working at the MVA, s/he might be just twisted enough to think it was funny and let it slide.
