Wash your hands!

javasaurusWe've all heard that we should wash our hands after using the bathroom, before preparing or eating food, and other times during our daily routines. But how many actually do so? Take a guess before reading this article about handwashing.
One note about the article: it indicates a nice increse in the number of hand washers done since the last time this study was done, and implies that a campaign to promote handwashing aided in this. I suspect, though, that there is an age-based bias when it comes to washing hands -- younger people were more likely indoctrinated into hand washing than older people, so as those older people are dying off, we see an increase in the ratio of hand washers to hand non-washers.
Important note: Flu virus can live up to two hours on your hands, and up to twenty minutes on hard surfaces such as door knobs!
