Pittsburgh day 2
Oooo, had to wake up at 7:00 this morning. That's better than 6:00 yesterday, but still! I'll never catch up on my sleep!
Continental breakfast, followed by overview lecture, then lunch. Afternoon consisted of training on software, then a glance at a number of cool research instruments designed to process pharmaceutical substances into tablets for testing. Very cool. Dinner at a fabulous (if pricey) fish restaurant called the Monteray Bay Fish Grotto, on a hillside overlooking the point where the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers come together to form the Ohio. Great view, especially after the sun went down and the lights came on all across the city. We could see the stadiums for the Steelers and the Pirates (who were apparently playing tonight) and a large number of riverboats.
I'm learning that I'm really fairly well prepared to work with chemometric techniques, and I may understand parts of it better than some experts. What I really need is more experience with the actual software programs. It will be an adventure!
