I am looking at it this way: Love and lust both stem from the desire to be with someone: the former is emotional, the latter physical.

So perhaps hatred and *word* are similar: the strong desire not to be around someone. While hateful desires may be obtained through violence (turning somebody into a pile of goo might be an effective way not to be around them anymore), it is certainly possible to hate someone without wishing them harm. Perhaps the physical version of wanting not to be near someone is "revulsion" -- but maybe a stronger word is needed.

Anybody got a word for "strong revulsion"?
