A coworker mentioned a large money prize offered for some major math problem that was announce in France last year at a conference. Any idea what it might be? There are still many unsolved math problems, but the most popular ones will be solved for prestige, not money.

A few minutes ago I mentioned a math problem competition, and I was looking for details. I suspect what my coworker meant was the Clay Mathematics Institute's Millenium Prize Problems, a set of 7 very famous unsolved mathematics problems, on par with Fermat's Last Theorem (which was solved relatively recently). Each problem is worth one million dollars (I don't know if there is a time limit).
