3D web browser!
Jul. 23rd, 2006 02:21 pmThis looks potentially interesting: A 3D web browser called "3B" is one of three web browsers reviewed in this PC Magazine review. None of the browsers gets high marks, mostly due to speed or other technical issues. This one, 3B, is intriguing in that it displays the web as a Doom-type world, and (better still) is free. It also has a firefox backbone. Most computers built in the last couple of years should be able to handle it, though. I agree with the reviewer that having in-web avatars and being able to see other avatars would be neat, but I suspect you'd have too many avatars for the system to handle without serious server-side support.
Check it out, enjoy!
(edit: it is a bit slow, and caters mostly to shopping at this time, but check it out anyway!)
