DirectTV installation, part II
As you may recall, we were supposed to have DirectTV installed on Sunday, but it didn't go so well. See previous post for details.
Different guy came this morning. Very friendly, very efficient. Had to move the dish from where the first guy installed it. (it wasn't broken -- the next door house was in the way!) Also, didn't need to run cable through walls, or even through attic, or even along the front of the house. It turns out our house was pre-wired for cable, and the pre-installed cables were just fine, and in the right locations, so the tech just needed to put end-caps on them, and they worked.
The whole thing was simple, painless. The tech even did things like hooking up the VCR, instead of simply running the cable to the TV and letting me deal with other connections.
Poor guy was also suffering from cat allergies the whole time he was there (I could hear his wheezing get worse during his stay), and though he mentioned it, he didn't use it as an excuse, just sniffled a lot and kept working.
So other than bad tech guy from sunday, DirectTV has provided wonderful customer service (did I mention they gave us a free month of Showtime since the work didn't get completed on Sunday?).
