Cinema price grumbling
Dec. 30th, 2006 01:52 amGaaaahhh.
Warning. This is a whine.
AMC is charging full price starting at 4pm on Fridays, weekends, and holidays now. (and their pre-4pm prices are as high as some full prices at other venues).
We went to the AMC in Columbia just wanting a cheap afternoon at the movies. Ya know, they didn't even have their prices clearly listed? If you search for them, you can find a small 6x8 inch placard behind a post. And I couldn't find an e-mail addy where I could send a complaint.
I know the cost of marketing movies is going up. Special effects and big stars cost money (how many movies are topping $200M in costs these days?). It's bad enough that the popcorn requires a mortgage and there are more commercials than previews, but rolling back matinee times is just plain petty. As long as I can find the same movies at Muvico, Regal, Bow Tie, or Crown, I know where I won't be seeing Charlotte's Web.
