So far I've only heard two major gripes about Windows Vista, though both are pretty significant.

The first is that MS would only allow one transfer of the operating system to a new computer. If you make significant upgrades to your existing computer, then that counts as a new computer. Hardware geeks make upgrades fairly often, so this could be disasterous for them. Fortunately, MS has relented on this point, and the software transfer allowance will be similar to XP.

The second is that MS is being extremely non-friendly with Symantec, Mcafee, and other antivirus software companies. Part of the reasoning has been that Vista will be much more secure than XP, and that MS's own antivirus can do the job. Other antivirus companies need information about the core of the operating system that MS is unwilling to offer them. MS's antivirus is considered by many to be dismal compared to more established AV programs, so this is especially troubling.

Does anyone have updates regarding the antivirus issue? And are there other major concerns regarding Vista, especially the licence?

Thanks!
