Hush is, in some ways, the ultimate of the dark broody nature that Buffy can have when it's being serious. Innovative with the hush motif, good at incorporating the story arc into the features of the one episode. Great at turning childhood nursery rhyme type story into adult fear fest. (They've done that before with the monsters that only children could see, in the hospital.) But Beer Bad is a different side of Buffy that we don't see very often. Focusing on the fun that the show can be. A break from the typical melodrama. In other words, foamy!
