If you haven't heard yet, the switch of power occurred two days early to throw the terrorist off a bit! Iraq is now (mostly) its own country again. Of course, what this means in terms of American troop pull-out, terrorist uprisings, civil war, etc., is yet to be seen. But it is a bit of a surprise move, eh?

troops aren't going anywhere. that was never part of the agreement. plans are still in operation for completing as many as 14 permanent bases as part of the budget for iraq extending to 2006.

"power" is relative. the rebuilding corporations (halliburten, et al) are still making most of the decisions right now.
