Domestic partner victory in Maryland laws

This WTOPnews.com article details the final laws of the recent Maryland legislative session. Significant notes: Domestic partners will be able to make medical decisions for each other and share property (but will they be able to visit in the hospital?), and slots were again defeated.

I can't help but worry that despite the influx of money to the state, the current government will still "need" to replace "lost" slots money by decreasing post-secondary education funding. Again.

No, they won't decrease the funding ... they will flat-line the funding, mandate increased raises, mandate buildings, and decrease the state's portion of health-care costs. None of which counts as a cut.
