I want to respond briefly to three of the issues, though. The Republicans instituted "No child left behind" which has had a very strong effect on education. The comment about how to die is no doubt a reference to the recent feeding-tube case in Florida. Regarding marriage, the status quo (which the Republican party wishes to maintain) is one boy, one girl. If you want anything else, the government says, "no," which is an intrusion on some peoples' lives. Oddly enough, the author of the quote didn't mention the life/choice issue.

As for respecting my side, I thank you for that, but please note that I never stated my side! I don't often post my own views, though I do try to provide supporting details in a devil's advocate kind of way. As for being Republican or Demoncrat, I've voted both ways depending on platforms and candidates. Unfortunately recent national politics have gotten so partisan that the whole thing makes me pretty ill. I like some issues on both sides, but I feel like I have to give in on some issues to vote the way I want on others.
Yep, I'll be at the faire. I assume I'll see ya there!
