Mid-East strife to escalate

With Israel's recent failed attempts at assassinating Hamas leaders, and threats by Hamas to escalate the violence to large civilian targets (e.g. hotels), Israel is considering a massive invasion of the Gaza Strip. Palestinian officials can't (or won't) control radical groups like Hamas, and Israel is holding the Palestinian officials responsible. I'm surprised this powder keg didn't blow long ago, but it's looking more and more inevitable.

And Georgie has already over-obligated our resources and money to cleaning up a country that still shows no evidence of WOMD, so what resources will we have to help the survivors of a major Israel - Palestine head-to-head?

Sigh, groan.
