Wheee! 233! At this rate, I may be down to 220 by end of Ren Fest, then I'll have time to exercise properly. I'm not too worried about exercise now because I worry about shocking my ankles and knees with the excess weight (also, I do walk about 8 hours a day on treacherous terrain each Saturday and Sunday).

Y'know... one of the things I miss about Joy as Queen Catherine is the morning walks/jogs about the village following her. I swear I was in better shape after those weekends than I was at any other time of the year.

This year I'm sitting around at Faire *way* too much. Don't even have chior stuff twice a day on the far side of the village to get me up and about, much less the "follow the royals" now. I've promised myself that I'm getting out of the guildyard during Arming the Household, starting this weekend, if at no other time during the day.

I miss those, too! I wonder if Dieter or Hans remember the lyrics to "Oh, Speeding Queen", a filk that the three of us composed to the tune of "O, Tannenbaum" for Joy a couple years ago. The look on her face when we sang it for her was priceless.

Then there was "Bad, Bad, Le Roi Francois" that Paula composed for Jonathon (aka Frenchie, aka King Francois several years ago) to the tune of "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown". I never did remember to get the lyrics from her on that one.

Ah, memories. :p

I remember one day, when I was playing Charles Brandon, I challenged my "wife," Mary Tudor, to a race to the slide. This was after the morning photo op, and Mary thought it best to ask the queen's permission. "A race?" asked the queen, "great idea!" and off goes Joy, running as fast as any queen could in one of those gowns. Following were myself, several other courtiers, and the queen's German guards. What a sight! I think Joy enjoys surprising people.
