New show: Heroes

javasaurusHeroes, NBC, Mndays at 9pm(Eastern Time)
The show is a little wacky. Basic premise: several people from different parts of the world are slowly discovering that they have powers. They are also being drawn together, seemingly by destiny, to combat a future catastrophe. I won't go into specifics. There's a little too much cooincidence for my tastes, but I love the character types, and there is room for growth if I can get past the hokeyness of it. There are some forgiveable implausibilities (like the superpowers) but also some inexcusable ones (it's not clear that there is a time difference between Tokyo and New York, for example). Good amounts of mystery, and a dollop of "Ooooooo....something bad is going to happen..."
Worth checking out for a couple of weeks. If you missed the series premiere last night, they are showing an encore tonight at 8, I think, and you can also download it from their web site.
