I've been seeing a few books at Borders with an odd size, about 4.5" wide (like a mass-market paperback) but maybe 9" tall (like a trade paperback). It seems to me an odd size for printing, reading, and storing.

Thoughts?

I would guess it's anything that will get people's attention to their book? I agree that it's an odd size, especially for storing! (Which reminds me, I still haven't put up the bookshelf I bought. :)

Some travel books have been printed with similar dimensions for a while now. I think the idea is that you still have a "one hand sized" book, but have either fewer pages (keeping it one hand sized) or that it's more noticable because of the height.

unusual, though. (hmmm... unusual is an odd looking word as well...)
