A word for today

Zaftig. This came up on my wine-lover's page-a-day calendar, comparing a Napa Pinot Blanc to chardonnay. It said it was a good wine for when you don't want something quite so rich, something a little more restrained. "That would be a good pinot blanc, which is never quite as zaftig as chardonnay."

It means buxom, full-bodied, pleasantly plump, a little heavy.

Weight Loss week 32

Sometimes it's very tempting to tell myself (and you) that my weight is really a little less than the scale says. I have been very honest so far, and will continue to be so. Today it's 236. It was so tempting to say, well probably really 235, or even 234, but I'm a little constipated. But no matter what the reason, the real reading on the scale is 236.

Just wondering...

what do you think Bush would do if he found out the thespians were still getting married all over the country...

I'm not sure if the sea lion let him go because the young man was too small, or maybe the creature will be hanging out in a sea lion pub later telling his chums (ack!) about the one that got away...

Of course, the young fisherman probably said afterwards, "she wasn't a mermaid, but she had other nice attributes."
