No good movies?!?

I'm not sure what I think about seeing the movie Twilight sometime this weekend. I need a movie fix, and there is precious little out there right now or in the immediate future that sounds at all appealing.

The Spirit looks interesting, and will be out soon.

Tale of Despereaux might be a must see, if they did a good job of it, I'll wait until the reviews.

Maybe Bolt?

Already saw Quantum of Solace, loved it.

Maybe I'll make my own popcorn and watch a DVD...

Bolt is still top of my list.

it doesn't help that the two planned blockbusters in the fantasy realm (Harry Potter 6, Narnia 3) both got pushed out of this season.

some circles think Narnia 3 might actually get pushed another year or dropped entirely - the intent of Disney getting the Narnia license was to have a fantasy franchise to ride the wave set by Lord of the Rings. Trouble is, Pirates did that far beyond anybody's expectations, so once Prince Caspian failed to grab the same spirit (trans: money) that Wardrobe did, Disney execs are nervous about it's future and consider it less necessary to Disney's success.

this is especially true when you figure in merchandise rights (Disney has to share Narnia money but keeps all Pirates money) and the ability to tie the film in with the parks. Pirates is already there, but Narnia so far has just been a "preview and museum" attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando and likely will stay that way, if at all - you can't really build a ride out of Narnia and have it fit in with the any part of the parks, especially with the Pixar projects in place on both coasts (Cars Land and Toy Story Mania).

Weeeel, I am not the best judge considering how absolutely fangirlish I am about Twilight, but I enjoyed it and recommend it. Have you read the books? It does help to understand the characters better.

Ripper & I saw Bolt and loved it. Not going to see it a second time, but definitely buying it when it comes out on DVD. We're also planning to see Tale of Despereaux and Inkheart, gotta get the dates on both.
