I'm not sure what I think about seeing the movie Twilight sometime this weekend. I need a movie fix, and there is precious little out there right now or in the immediate future that sounds at all appealing.

The Spirit looks interesting, and will be out soon.

Tale of Despereaux might be a must see, if they did a good job of it, I'll wait until the reviews.

Maybe Bolt?

Already saw Quantum of Solace, loved it.

Maybe I'll make my own popcorn and watch a DVD...

Weeeel, I am not the best judge considering how absolutely fangirlish I am about Twilight, but I enjoyed it and recommend it. Have you read the books? It does help to understand the characters better.

blueeowyn and I have read the first book, and I'm half-way through the second. It's okay, a bit fluffy, not what I'd call literature. I can see the appeal that it has for the teen girls, and I'll probably see the movie.

It doesn't have the page-turner quality that Harry Potter did, which is what I expected with all the hype.

By the way, I got to hear Patricia Briggs read from an upcoming book last weekend, and so I went and bought a copy of "Moon Called" -- the first of her Mercy series (Mercy is a woman living in a Werewolf/Vampire world) -- yes, another werewolf/vampire world. I've read several Dresdon books, a couple of L.K.Hamilton, and a bit of the Twilight series, and still I find Brigg's work to be fresh and active. Highly recommended if you're into the genre.

Thanks. I actually read books DESPITE the fact that they're vampire books. Brigg's name sounds so familiar, though I can't place it. Hmm...

Anywho, I will pick up one of her books and check it out! Thank you for the recommendation.

And, since you've read Twilight I do recommend that you see the movie. It's a fun adaptation and if you're in the mood for a theatre movie it's worth watching.
