Yesterday: Constitution Day!

I just wanted to point out that yesterday was Constitution Day, the 222nd anniversary of the signing of the Constitution. I didn't see anything about it in LJ-land, or FB-land. Nobody e-mailed me and said, OMGBBQ!!!1!11! -- Iz Rulz of teh Country Day!!!1!1!

We did get an e-mail at work suggesting we take some time and think about the importance of the Constitution. Of course, the e-mail was sent at 7:30pm, long after all the employees had left for the day.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I knew about it, there are always programs on campus related to the Constitution. All schools that receive federal aid will have something (well, if they actually want the money they will).

Varies by the school and classes. One kid said they mentioned it during announcements, the other didn't mention having heard at all this year (but she's got World Geography this year, so it doesn't quite fit in with the curriculum this year). Oddly enough, the other has early American History right now... but as they're barely starting the colonial period, they didn't do anything in class either. (his school might have done something during their "AE" class, but his classroom runs differently than the others at the school)
