A horse of the same color...
Certainly not efficient, or cheap, but they've done gone and clone a horse! It's probably old news to some of you (the foal is now two months old), but it was news to me!

The article is (as is usual for the media) missing a few key things. When they talk about getting another Funny Cide, what would be the point? The horse won't be exactly the same (environmental influences). More importantly the resultant foal would not be elligble for registration in the Jockey Club therefore could never race and could never be used in the breeding shed.
One of the links off the page was interesting ... San Diego Zoo has been freezing cells from rare animals and is cloning them (not with a whole lot of success because finding hosts that work is not easy).
