The next head of California...

I must admit being amused at the circus currently going on in California. Arnold S. declared that he will run for Governor of the state -- not really a surprise since it has been a strong possibility for a couple of weeks now. The surprise is that he may be running against Gallagher (the comedian) and sit-com star Gary Coleman. I think the US is generally upset with professional politicians (which is why Jesse Ventura was elected), but how many non-politicos have the combination of time/desire/money to enter the race?
Maybe I should run for office. I know next to nothing about running a government, but I've been portraying a mayor at the Ren Fest for a few years now...
Java for dictator! (or whatever we call the person running Maryland)

Regarding Gallagher ... "The only problem with political jokes is that they get elected."

Joe ran for one of the Rep. seats in Annapolis when we lived in Anne Arundel... didn't even come in last... had quite a few handfuls vote for him, despite the fact that he couldn't vote himself (he wasn't even in the country because of a last minute job thing), I couldn't vote for him (idiot school/work/horse schedule at the time), and he hadn't managed to get his info. back to the League of Women Voters in time (again, thanks to job stuff). He'd made maybe 3 'appearances', one of which was written up, and must have convinced some people... either that or they just liked his "guy next door name".
