XY vs. XX vs. XI???

Hmmm...for the longest time, I've assumed that Xi was a variation of Xpioti, but when I recently saw BE's use of "XY" to refer to men, and it occurred to me that maybe "Xi" is really "XI" -- referring to some strange alien chromosome pair...

It would explain *sooooooo* much...

SPROING! That was the sound of BE's brain being sprained.

XI - Hmmm, what could that mean in chromosomes. In HYPP horses you see N/N, H/H, and N/H. I don't think I have seen it referred to as H/N. So the serious condition is listed second (or is it the Dominant condition?). Hmm, with the Cream gene you see Crcr for the heterozygous version so I don't think there is a set methodology.

So, if you accept that X, Y, and I are 3 different genes at the same allelle, what would they be? X is the default female. Y is the male which is dominant over the female (but lethal when homozygous ... YY does not work, while XX does). So, what would I be? In-between? No, Xpioti is female. Female with Independence? That could work but implies that XX don't have that.

Hmm, wonder what I would be? Do I count as an XX or an XI? Hmmmma

I is the X that wrenched the Y's arm off and beat an arm and a leg off the X? Actually, it's Xi, not XI, so it's obviously a homozygous pairing of dominant and recessive. Actually, maybe it's Xi-X, rather than X-X? I don't know the term, but some aspects are linked with the X or the Y; in Katherine Kurtz' Deryni novels, the Deryni gene is X-linked. A homozygous Deryni is XX', a heterozygous Deryni is X'X'.

And here I was thinking that, as Xi, I was sumfin speshul. :)

Hey! I caught that! It took me two readings, but that last sentence didn't escape my attention! *laugh* What, are you attempting to indicate that I'm strange, odd, or peculiar? I resemble that! :)
