Picture Book of Maryland

I was in Borders last night, and chanced upon a book called B is for Blue Crabs, a Maryland Alphabet, a nice picture book which assigns to each letter an aspect (and nice photo) of Maryland. For example Z was for the Baltimore Zoo.

J was for joust, the state sport (I think it was officially changed to lacrosse, but blah, eh?), and they had a painting of a scene from the Maryland Ren Fest showing two of our jousters engaged in the act! (of jousting, you louts! Get yer minds outta the gutter).

I think that Lacrosse is the official TEAM sport of Maryland. Ring Jousting (not to be confused with contact jousting) is apparently still the state individual sport.

I wonder when/if Duckpin Bowling will be put forth to replace either of them.

So, which jousters made it to the book?

BE's got it right. I double-checked after lacrosse was named an official state sport ... last year, year before?

Ring jousting's still the official state sport, lacrosse is official state team sport.
