Admittedly, this one doesn't directly affect me, I don't have a Bank of America credit card.

Apparently, Bank of America is really jacking up their credit card rates to as high as 25 or 28%, for customers who make payments on time, and have great credit ratings. They sent the notice out about a month ago, and indicated that you have to notify them by something like Feb 18, in writing, if you intend to close your account and pay-off at the current rates.

28%!?! holy mother!!!!!!!!!!!!

how is that NOT considered loan sharking? my god. here i thought my 21% Sears card i had in the olden days of (what i considered to be) my too-high credit card debt was outrageous. that's absolutely unreal. unfrickenbelievable.

i'm so glad i only have one card. i'm doubly glad is it NOT Bank of America!!!

And to think I'd just applied for one, looking to consolidate and pay off my other small ones. Glad I read this!
